Cody McKay (Racecar Driver, Mechanic & Presentor)

Stepping into the Aussie Racing Car for the Newcastle 500 is Cody Mckay, a proud Novocastrian, small business owner, and motorsport enthusiast.

Cody’s motorsport background is a diverse one, bringing to the table 15+ years of racing.  Throughout the years he’s had some incredible drives in everything from the EH Holden he grew up building and racing with his Dad on the dirt roads of the Variety Bash, to Legend Cars at Speedway.

Cody’s first official motorsport experience (he hears cutting hot laps as a 16-year-old on the foreshore doesn’t count) was behind the wheel of a kart at the Newcastle Kart Racing Club (NKRC). Cody previously participated in karting events. From the Clubman series, to TAG 125CC Open and Restricted, X30 series and most recently, Endurance races, Kart Racing has been a great way for Cody to get his bum in a seat and practice his racing skills.

“As Cody’s confidence and skill grew, he moved from Karts to Cars.”

Cody has experience racing and testing Formula Fords, Production Car Series, BMW E36 series, and Legend Cars.  He’s no stranger to dirt tracks, tar circuits, or street circuits.

No matter what he is racing, Cody has proven himself to be consistent, versatile, well skilled and aggressive on the track.  And now, he gears up for his latest challenge, racing alongside the V8 Supercars in the support category: Aussie Racing Series.

“Cody’s love for racing is matched only by his love for Newcastle.”

As a kid, he learned to drive on the very streets that the Newcastle 500 is taking place on.  The opportunity to race in Newcastle as a part of the Aussie Racing Car Series is absolute dream come true for Cody.  He’s a Newcastle Boy racing in Newcastle, life couldn’t get any better than this.

Off the track Cody spends most of his time running his business, Radical Mechanical. He lives in Merewether with his partner and pit-boss Aly, who calls the shots on and off the track.

Aly Brody (Logistics Manager & Driver Support)

Aly's attention to detail and organizational skills are second to none, making her an invaluable asset to the team.

Whether it's coordinating travel arrangements, managing logistics for events, or making sure everyone is fueled up and ready to go on race day, Aly is always one step ahead.

Her passion for the sport and dedication to the team is evident in everything she does, and she's always willing to go above and beyond to ensure the team's success.

With her positive attitude and tireless work ethic, it's no wonder she's a fan favorite and a respected member of the racing community. Aly truly is a force to be reckoned with, both on and off the track.

She’s a Boston native who moved to Australia in 2017

Aly is also Cody’s finance and biggest fan!

Though keeping Cody McKay Motorsports can sometimes feel like a full-time job, off the track she works in law and finance and is a competitive weightlifter.

Michael Humphries (Engineer, Mechanic & Bodyguard)

Mick, our jack-of-all-trades has a skill set that could make anyone's head spin! As a top-notch Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, he knows their way around a tool shed and has eagle eyes for detail. Plus, with mad welding skills, he could probably fabricate a spaceship out of toothpicks, and has fixed many race cars on the fly!

But wait, there's more! Mick is also a master of advanced composites, so it's safe to say they're a superhero of the latest materials and tech. Yet, the icing on this talent-filled cake is their 10+ years of experience as a motorsports mechanic and team manager. Whoa! That means they're no stranger to high-pressure situations, leadership, and problem-solving on the fly.

And the cherry on top? He is a TAFE instructor, which means they love nothing more than sharing their passion and knowledge with others. They could probably turn a technical manual into a riveting bedtime story! Overall, this multi-talented individual is a treasure trove of awesomeness and a fantastic addition to any industry.

The team also joke that Mick is our body guard, because we certainly feel safe when he is around!

Courtney Lorking (Public Relations, Social media Manager, & Partnerships Manager)

Courtney has been in the automotive industry in one way or another since her teens.

Doing her mechanic apprenticeship with Holden and then falling into the world of part interpreting.

She has a strong passion for the car industry, now working alongside Supercars with driver management as well as content and PR, Social media management and content creation for Cody McKay Motorsports.

Courtney is also a young mum and loves to share her knowledge of cars and wrangling kids into them by reviewing on multiple platforms.
